ASE-Automotive Institution of Automotive Service Excellence:
This is a nonprofit organization developed in the early 1970’s. ASE tests and certifies automotive professionals in all major technical areas of repair and service. ASE certifies the technical competence of individual technicians, not repair facilities. Prior to taking ASE certification tests, many technicians attend training classes or study on their own in order to brush up on their knowledge. By passing difficult, national tests, ASE-certified technicians prove their technical competence to themselves, to their employers, and to their customers. Car Care Council:
The Car Care Council is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to educate motorists about the importance of maintenance, repair and enhancements for safer, cleaner, better performing vehicles. They have a library of car care articles to help you better understand how to take care of your vehicle. They also have articles and information for the Do-It-Yourselfers (DIYers).

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:
The mission of the NHTSA is to reduce deaths and injuries resulting from motor vehicle crashes by setting and enforcing safety standards for motor vehicles. You can find out what your vehicles safety rating is or if it is associated with any re-calls. Good to know before purchasing a vehicle.
